Dance-2-Life:

Bringing Couple Dance Principles to Life

No dance experience necessary.

The purpose of the Dance-2-Life teachings is to enhance the quality of the life experiences of all participants by emphasizing the principles of couple dancing that everyone knows, but may not yet know that they know. By bringing the principles of couple dance into conscious use within the daily activities of life one can gain greater experiences of inner harmony, freedom, and joy. For the experienced dancer, the Workshops help to improve one's lead/follow skills. For the seeker of self-knowledge, one gains a greater understanding of the deeper, true Self. For the spiritual seeker of enlightenment, one gains keys to the door of Self-realization, though you must use them to open the door. Life-mates gain greater communication skills and understanding of the vitality of one's self and one's mate. All attendees will learn and grow and have fun!

For over two decades I have been teaching people how to dance by showing them how the actions they use in their daily lives can be used to understand the principles of couple dancing. Now, with new insights and the Dance-2-Life Workshops, I show people how the principles of couple dancing can be used to understand how to live a life free of stress, jealousy, fear, hatred, and judgmental attitudes on, and off, the dance floor.

Examples:

  • How to look within the body, thus discovering the ability to see it as "vehicle" or "housing" rather than Being. (Five minute standing meditation.)
  • Discovering the rhythm in one’s life.
  • How to find guidance within what is Right Action - or Life Path.
  • Recognition of where one received one’s base, or root, thinking patterns.
  • Why those root thought patterns may not work anymore.
  • Ways of changing root thought patterns.
  • Each person in our lives is a mirror to ourselves. (Rotating mirroring)
  • What happens when each person has an agenda and how this breaks down effective communication.
  • How not being clear in ones communication creates confusion.
  • How all participants must be willing to communicate for clear, directed communication to be effective.
  • How to become an effective communicator.
  • How having a relaxed frame for one’s life is more beneficial than being stiff (identifying with mental positions) or not having any frame at all (apathy).
  • The benefits of not taking oneself seriously.
