Q: Where does the Path start?
A: With the recognition that the way we are presently living is not bringing
us the happiness and fulfillment that we think it should. As one makes
this recognition, there may arise the curiosity and determination to find
a way to achieve greater happiness and fulfillment. After trying many
different things that do not seem to work, one starts to look at religion
as possibly having the answer. Perhaps one, through the progress of life
events such as how you came to be readings these words, is introduced
to the Wisdom Teachings of Mysticism, Buddhism, Hinduism or Taoism. While
looking into these teachings, one is struck by the teaching to "look
within" to find the answers. At this point, one may be introduced
to some form of meditation. Or, perhaps one was led to meditation first
and through the use of that vehicle, the Wisdom Teachings are found.
Q: What are the "Wisdom Teachings" as you define that term?
A: They are the instructions that by recognizing that one has been conditioned
to think as one does via influences (seemingly) external to ourselves,
and that there exists the possibility to see through all such conditioning
in order to view What Is without the filters of conditioning, ignorance,
opinion, preferences and emotion. By learning to see things as they truly
are, one begins to see that we are all interconnected to all that exists
in a way that defies common societal teachings. As one practices this
way of seeing, one grows more accepting, more joyful, more loving and
peaceful, internally and externally. Eventually, one finds that this manifest
Universe is resting upon the Un-manifested, and that one can not exist
without the other. This understanding leads one to the conclusion that
if the Manifested cannot exist without the Un-manifested, then they must
be one and the same. Often, this conclusion comes as a theoretical observation
long before it becomes ones subjective experience. The teachings declare
that one MAY SUBJECTIVELY EXPERIENCE the Unity of all through the Awareness
of what most religions call "God". After such a subjective experience,
one is bestowed with a new realization/understanding/subjective perception
of the inner workings of All That Is. With this new Realization, comes
the peace, fulfillment, love and joy that one was missing.
